National Technical Information Service (NTIS) - The official source for government-sponsored U.S. and worldwide scientific, technical, engineering, and business-related information. As a nonappropriated agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, NTIS does not rely on taxpayer funds to operate. All NTIS operating costs are paid for by the sale of its products and services.
NIST: Materials Science and Engineering Laboratories: Polymers Division - provides standards, measurement methods for U.S. polymers industries. The program areas encompass electronics materials, biomaterials, processing characterization, and applications of combinatorial methods.
Technology Administration - The only Federal agency working to maximize technology's contribution to America's economic growth. Includes three agencies: the Office of Technology Policy (OTP), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and the National Technical Information Service (NTIS).
Office of Technology Policy - OTP mission is developing and advocating national policies that use technology to build America's economic strength.
NIST Weights and Measures Division - Promotes uniformity in U.S. weights and measures laws, regulations, and standards to achieve equity between buyers and sellers in the marketplace. Provides training to state and local weights and measures officials and to state and industry metrologists.
