THE PERCEPTION OF THE IMAGE WORLD - This thesis presents a new version of the old philosophical idea that understanding is a process that mirrors the world. This thesis proposes a broad perspective on image analysis, on how biological visual system are organized, on how they learn, and from there explores some ramifications on imagination, and on bio-cultural evolution.
Goethe comes to New York - Kevin Dann, professor of history of science at the University of Vermont, was interested in "Americanizing" Goetheanism at a gathering in New York. There is also a need to move Goetheanism out of the "anthroposophical camp". This was a central motive of the Teacher's College of Columbia University, represented in Professor Douglas Sloan.
