Wikipedia Articles
- Star of Bethlehem (plant) - The Star of Bethlehem is a genus (Ornithogalum) of perennial plants native to southern Europe belonging to the family Hyacinthaceae. Growing from a bulb, it has grass-like basal leaves and a slender stalk, up to 30 cm tall, bearing clusters of star-shaped white flowers striped with green.
- Maia (star) - MAIA (20 Tauri). The Pleiades (star cluster), the Seven Sisters star cluster (one of two naked eye clusters that belong to Taurus, the other the Hyades (star cluster)), twinkle high in northern hemisphere autumn and winter skies, while shining closer to the horizon in the skies of southern hemisphere spring and summer.
- Star cloud - A star cloud is a group of stars that appear to be in the same position in the sky. These are not true star clusters, but rather dependent on the point of view of the observer.
- Moving cluster method - In astrometry, the moving cluster method and the closely related convergent point method are means, primarily of historical interest, for determining the distance to star clusters. They were used on several nearby clusters in the first half of the 1900s to determine distance.
- Stellar association - A stellar association, or moving group, is a very loose star cluster, looser than both open clusters and globular clusters. Stellar associations will normally contain from 10 to 100
